I hope you and your family had a great holidays and start to the new year! You're writing is so true that I can't thank you enough for what you are doing with TMNT and Absolute Superman!
Love your work since The Other Side. I have met you several times at so many different conventions and you were always gracious and generous with your time. I still remember how you offer to tell me the ending of Scalped and it was only at issue 51. Of course I didn't take up on your offer. I picked up your ashcan of Bug Wars. Can't wait for the comic to hit the store.
Planning to be at Third Eye, with Once Upon a Time and slew of comics to sign. Probably will have to get back at the end of the line again to get them all signed. Just wondering about Goddamned and Southern Bastards. Love both of them and was wondering if there are any plans to continue them.
Thanks, Enrique. Bring whatever you've got and I'll sign them all. Yes, I definitely have more plans for both Bastards and Goddamned. Bastards continues to be a complicated, challenging situation. More Goddamned will happen when Guera and I can line up the scheduling.
Damn Jason! Where do you find the time to work on so many different titles at the same time? Scratch that, where do you find the time to come up with, outline, and maintain so many series without getting everything jumbled up and it all turning messy!?
It’s amazing to see how much of an influence and impact u alone had on comics in 2025, and if has me all the more excited to see what you have in store for 2025. 364 days in counting till this year ends, so let’s make it an even greater one than the last!
Also while I see u don’t have many appearances listed so far, I confess to wishing you could have made it to Megacon Orlando this year. With Rafa and Scott there, we’d have quite a collection of the Absoluteverse team there to chat about the good work, and tease what else is coming up. Because I won’t lie, I can’t recall, since Phillip Kennedy Johnson was on AC, being as excited as I am for a Superman book as I am with you and ur Absolute Superman!
3 issue alone and u have managed to flesh out and create a believable backstory for this new Superman, as well as set up I suspect more for down the line already. It’s simply amazing and has me excited for every new issue every month!
Eagerly awaiting to see what’s next from u this year!
Small question if u don’t mind me asking, but whose idea was it for the cape to be made of solar energy and be maleable like it was in issue 2? Was that u or Rafa or the both cam up with it?
I was just at DragonCon last year and had a blast.
The dust cape idea and Superman's overall design were first developed by Rafael Albuquerque, and then Rafa Sandoval came onboard and did his own take on the suit.
That’s awesome. I didn’t make it last year but I hope to this year.
And that’s wild! The whole aesthetic is amazing. And that panel of him wrapping everyone in his cape, watching it grow to encompass them all, has stuck me with since I saw it. Sincerely hoping for more shots like that!
Holy Moly, that's one busy year. Never thought about it but when you lay it out like you did in this latest Beard Missives, I've gotta say, BRAVO. Also, it was my personal high point of the year meeting you at Terrificon. I'm the guy who asked you about the death match between Red Crow and Coach Boss. I'm currently enjoying Absolute Superman, Batman OffWorld, TMNT and last but not least, your Conan 2-parter was great(hoping for more).
Just want to say thank you for doing more than your share of keeping comics great 👏🏽
Cheers, Ed. Yeah, I remember you. Terrificon was a blast. Thanks for reading. Yeah, I'd always love to do more Conan, but no plans at the moment. Though if you like my Conan stuff, for sure check out BUG WARS. It's my first time doing a fully original creator-owned fantasy story, and I'm super excited about the world that Mahmud and I have built.
Of course, I've enjoyed your work, so I'm hopeful that your BRZRKR will be great, cuz I was pretty disappointed with the original series ending issues. Its a great concept that I often enjoy, but I wasn't into that.

Cheers, Greg.
Digging the Batman Off World. I was apprehensive at first with the Dark Knight in space. Happy to see and read your unique spin.
Thanks. Last issue should be out soon.
Just read Batman Off World #6. Excellent ending! This will be cult favorite for years to come! Thank you for this terrific read!

Sweet! If possible, try and hit up DragonCon in Atlanta if possible

My BRZRKR one shot was released last summer. Hope you dig it.
I just picked up the book with your story in it, & I liked it most of all the stories in that mythology. Veyr excited about the Bug Wars also.
