Been working on this one for a long while, and I’m very happy to finally hold it in my hands. It is a beautiful thing, in all of its crimson and darkness. I talk more about it in the interviews below and in a few more that should be coming soon. I suggest you don’t read any of them until after you’ve read the first issue.

As for teases of what’s to come, I’ll just say…

That wall of weapons behind Frank on the cover. It’s not just a cover idea. We’ll see what it means in issue #2.

When you place the gun on the table, story-wise, you’d better wind up firing it. So we’ll definitely see what happens when you pull the trigger on a gamma-powered machine gun.

Frank Castle’s journey to become the King of Killers began a long time ago, years before that fateful day in Central Park. We’ll see that journey’s first step in issue #3. The untold story of Frank’s first kill.

Shout-out to my amazing girlfriend and partner, Jen Reichert, a hard-working, ass-kicking Emergency Room nurse, who helped me with the medical dialogue in the opening flashback of issue #1. “Responsive only to pain” is a line that stuck with me and seems to perfectly sum up so much about this story and this character overall.

Hope you dig the issue and the journey. Hope you’re well. Thanks as always for reading.

Great first issue, Aaron! The Central Park flashback and massive Punisher “memory lane” collage (I’ve collected Punisher since 87) had me hooked immediately.
